Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
Ensure OnTracx is set to Always or when using the app for continuous tracking.
Toggle Precise Location ON for better GPS accuracy.
Refresh GPS & Bluetooth
Turn Off Low Power Mode
Set Location to High Accuracy Mode
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services.
Ensure Wi-Fi Networking & Bluetooth, Motion Calibration & Distance, and Location-Based Apple Services are enabled.
Check Bluetooth Connection to OnTracx Sensor
Reinstall OnTracx (If Issues Persist)

If you're experiencing GPS issues or data drops from the accelerometer while using OnTracx with real-time feedback, follow these steps to troubleshoot and improve tracking performance:
Restart Your Phone
- Turn your phone off and back on to reset GPS and sensor connections.
Ensure all battery-saving modes are turned off while running
Toggle GPS and Bluetooth
- Turn GPS (Location) off and on again
- Turn Bluetooth off and on to refresh the connection with the OnTracx sensor.
Ensure Location and Sensor Permissions Are Enabled
- Go to Settings > Apps > OnTracx > Permissions
- Ensure Location is set to Allow all the time (this allows tracking when the app is in the background).
- Ensure Bluetooth permissions are granted for sensor connectivity.
Disable Battery Optimization for OnTracx
Some Android devices restrict background activity, which can interfere with GPS and sensor signals. Disable battery optimization using the steps below for your device:
- HTC: Settings > Power > Battery optimization > Not optimized > All apps > OnTracx > Don’t optimize > Done.
- Huawei:
- Set Energy Settings to Normal and add OnTracx to “Protected Apps.”
- Settings > Apps > Advanced > Ignore optimizations > Allowed > All apps > OnTracx > Allow.
- LG: Settings > Battery & power saving > Battery usage > Ignore optimizations > Turn ON for OnTracx.
- Motorola: Settings > Battery > Menu (upper right) > Battery optimization > Not optimized > All Apps > OnTracx > Don’t optimize.
- OnePlus (OxygenOS): Settings > Battery > Battery optimization > Menu (top) > Switch to All apps list > OnTracx > Don’t optimize.
- Samsung: Settings > Apps > Menu (upper right) > Special access > Optimize battery usage > All apps > Toggle OFF for OnTracx.
- Sony: Settings > Battery > Menu (upper right) > Battery optimization > Apps > OnTracx.
- Xiaomi (MIUI OS):
- Settings > Additional Settings > Battery & performance > Manage apps battery usage > Apps > OnTracx.
- Settings > Additional Settings > Privacy > Location > Use High Accuracy mode and allow location access.
Set Location to High Accuracy
- Settings > Connections > Location > Locating method > High accuracy
- Ensures GPS uses satellites, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks for the best accuracy.
Ensure Background Activity is Allowed
- Some devices limit background activity, which can disrupt tracking. Go to Settings > Apps > OnTracx > Battery > Allow background activity.
Check Bluetooth Connection to OnTracx Sensor
- Make sure the OnTracx sensor is charged and properly connected in the app.
- Avoid pairing the sensor directly from Bluetooth settings; always connect through the OnTracx app.
